Health Minister Faeqa Al Saleh today welcomed World Health Organisation (WHO) Director General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to Bahrain … his ‘second home’.
She emphasised that the visit comes as a continuation of co-ordination between the kingdom and the World Health Organisation, especially on efforts to confront the coronavirus.
She also welcomed Bahrain WHO representative Dr Tasnim Atatrah, who will head the Bahrain WHO office that was officially inaugurated earlier today.
“We consider this (the office) a new achievement to be added to the kingdom’s record. It reflects WHO’s confidence in the role played by Bahrain in the health field,” Ms Al Saleh said.
“The new office will strengthen co-operation and joint action and co-ordination between the Health Ministry and WHO and facilitate the exchange of experiences and information to combat epidemics and diseases and the development of health services and treatment.”
