Around 146,000 government schoolchildren started the 2021-2022 academic year today.
Out of them 80,000 registered to attend in-person classes and 66,000 went online.
"We have 55 per cent schoolchildren, which is around 80,000 students, register for in-person attendance," Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi told the GDN as he inspected several schools.
"We are ready for all case scenarios related to Covid-19 through trained faculties at schools."
