A WOMAN allegedly stole her former husband’s vehicle and fled to Saudi Arabia, a court heard.
The 35-year-old Saudi appeared at the Lower Criminal Court and denied forgery and theft.
Lawyer Lulwa Al Kaabi filed a case on behalf of the 40-year-old Bahraini victim in the court.
She said that the woman fled Bahrain in January via King Fahad Causeway, claiming her husband did not provide her with sufficient “freedom”.
The lawyer described how the defendant drove her ex-husband’s Hyundai Sonata, leaving her two sons, aged four and six, behind – before returning to Bahrain months later and filing a case at the Sunni Sharia Court requesting their custody.
“My client was married to the Saudi woman for seven years,” she told the GDN.
