A housemaid chewed off part of her roommate’s thumb in a vicious attack for taking ‘too long’ to open their apartment door after a night out celebrating at a birthday party, a court heard.
The 28-year-old Ethiopian appeared at the High Criminal Court yesterday where she denied assault and causing a permanent disability.
She is said to have carried out the crazed attack at a labour accommodation in Manama on March 12.
The gruesome details were recorded in court documents including how the defendant’s mouth was full of her victim’s blood.
Her victim, a 26-year-old fellow national, described how she screamed in pain as she unsuccessfully searched for part of her missing thumb.
