YOUNG Bahrainis and Arabs are increasingly optimistic about their future, a survey of youth across the region has revealed.

The Arab Youth Survey, conducted by UAE-based public relations firm ASDA’A BCW, revealed that approximately 74 per cent of young Bahrainis and 60pc of young Arabs are hopeful about the future and believe their best days lie ahead, up from 72pc and 50pc, respectively, last year.

The survey, which conducted face-to-face interviews with 200 young Bahrainis as well as 200 nationals from 16 countries, also showed that, on average, 48pc of young Arabs believe they will have a better life than their parents, up from 41pc in 2020.

“Most Arab youth expect a full economic recovery post pandemic in 2022, while youth in the GCC expect a quicker return to normal,” the survey noted, citing data showing that 62pc of GCC youth are confident of an economic recovery next year.
