ENHANCING Bahrain’s food security in the face of the global climate change is one of the underlying themes of the kingdom’s most popular Farmers’ Market, according to a top minister.
During his visit to the Budaiya Botanical Garden yesterday, Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam Khalaf noted that the market celebrated diverse food systems as a source of sustainability.
He stressed the importance of maintaining fresh food supply chains in the face of the global pandemic, while noting the relationship between health and increased consumption of fruit and vegetables.
