Manal Abduladhim and Asia Al Sayegh made history becoming the first Bahraini women referees to take part in officiating a football match.
The duo were lineswomen in the friendly match between Bahrain U-14 national girls’ team and Winners Academy, officiated by Khalid Ali Hassan. The match was held last Tuesday at the external playgrounds run by the Bahrain Football Association (BFA).
BFA Referees Committee chairman Khalifa Al Dosary stressed plans to engage women in officiating more football matches.
