St Chris examination results

St Christopher’s School students who sat GCSE, A-Level and IB examinations this summer achieved an excellent set of results, it was revealed today.

The pass rate at Advanced Level was 98 per cent across all taught A-Levels, with 38 per cent being given grade A* and A and 67.3 per cent being awarded grade A*-B (in the UK the figures were 25.5per cent A*-A and 51.6per cent A*-B).

Principal Simon Watson and head of Senior School, Nick Wilson said they were ‘delighted’ with the results and congratulated all the students for their individual endeavours and achievements. And, these figures, they say, stand comparison with good independent schools in the United Kingdom.

The students who earned these results have gone on to universities and colleges in the UK, USA and around the world.

The General Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (GCSE) are entered at age 16 (Year 11). A-Levels (Advanced Levels) and IB are sat at the age of 18. At A-Level, students generally sit either three or four subjects.

In these examinations the percentage of grades A* to C and 9 to 4 was 95 per cent. The equivalent figure for all UK schools is around 67.0 per cent. Over 56 per cent  were graded A* to A and 9 to 7 as compared to a UK figure of about 20.6 per cent.
