Lebanese Independence Day is being celebrated with traditional music, food and dance at the Gulf Hotel’s Zahle restaurant.
Dr Milad Nammour, ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon, was guest of honour last night at the opening of five days of cultural celebration, and was greeted by hotel executives.
Entertainment included performances by singer Assi Bitar and the Dabke Band from Lebanon.
To add a further traditional touch to proceedings, a live cooking station features bread baked on a large domed metal griddle, known as a saj.
