Bahrain maul the Dubai Tigers

Bahrain RFC mauled Dubai Tigers this evening at their stadium in Janabiya recording a stunning 62 -0 victory.

An appreciative crowd roared on the mighty Reds and even drizzling rain could not dampen their enthusiasm as the home side stamped their authority on the game within seconds of the start.

By half time Bahrain’s rugby heroes had run up 29 points with tries from Jack Phillips, Nike Morehu, Tommy Booth and Greg Heath.

Conversions followed from the trusty foot of Ross Preedy.

Prior to kick-off head coach Adam Wallace had revealed to GDNonline that his players were ‘chomping at the bit’ to get back into XVs rugby after a lengthy break following the end of the first half of the season and the Dubai 7s.

His words could not have rung truer as Bahrain put on an awesome display of power rugby, not letting their opponents settle or reply at any stage of the contest.

“I could not be more prouder of them. We need to continue with the same steel and determination for the rest of the season,” said Wallace.

In the second Bahrain continued the try scoring with James Whittingham, Jordan Viggers and Morehu and Booth again.

Star kicker Preedy stepped up to add to the points.

Bahrain RFC hope to secure the West Asia Premiership title for a third consecutive year and will face tough competition all the way to the finishing line from current leaders and old rivals Dubai Exiles.
