McLaren launch new supercar despite Covid-19 thwarting motor show unveiling

McLaren unveiled its 'sensational' new supercar to the world today at its base in the UK after concerns over the European spread of the coronavirus resulted in the original launch plans at the Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland being scuppered.

Lighter, more powerful and with even higher levels of performance on both road and track, the McLaren 765LT is the latest in a line of ‘Longtail’ McLarens and described as 'the most dynamically advanced and engaging LT model ever from McLaren Automotive'.

The unveiling took place at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking with McLaren Automotive CEO Mike Flewitt leading a press conference and giving details of the new supercar, as well as other product and business updates.

Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat is the majority shareholder of the McLaren Group. Within it, the British sports car marque considers the kingdom its second home and its McLaren Bahrain Tower, the marque’s third-largest facility globally after the McLaren Technology Centre and McLaren Production Centre , will open in the shadow of Bahrain International Circuit on March 19.
