Jaffari Waqf (Endowments) Directorate board chairman Yousif Al Saleh officially launched the transportation service in the presence of board vice-chairman Abduljalil Al Tareef and the contracted transport company Al Sadiq’s general manager Majid Taher. The Business Year (TBY) and the British Chamber of Commerce Bahrain (BCCB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to spotlight Bahrain’s investment landscape and its economic ties with the United Kingdom. The MoU, signed by Clara Corominas Rührup for TBY and Paula Boast for the BCCB, supports The Business Year: Bahrain 2025/26 – The Strategic Gateway for Global Business. The partnership aims to promote Bahrain as a gateway for British companies expanding into the GCC and strengthen bilateral business ties.

Labubu mania has reached Bahrain’s shores, with fans and collectors across ages tapping into the viral trend. So, what is it about the ubiquitous monster doll that makes it so covetable? Read on to find out. For the uninitiated, Labubu is a plush toy and figurine, which is part of ‘The Monsters’ series created by Hong Kong-based artist Kasing Lung. Based on Nordic mythology, it is known for its playful, mischievous nature, has a vinyl face and no tail. Some would even say it flaunts an eerie smile that is hard to miss. Other characters in the universe include Zimomo, Tycoco, Spooky and Pato.

Following the directives of Prime Minister’s Court Minister and Labour Fund (Tamkeen) board of directors chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Tamkeen announced the launch of a new healthcare support package targeting 750 Bahraini healthcare professionals. This initiative aligns with Bahrain’s government directives to support local medical professionals, enhancing their employment and career development prospects. It also follows the success of the previous healthcare support package launched last year, which benefited more than 700 Bahrainis in collaboration with the Supreme Council of Health (SCH).

A major environmental campaign is aiming to collect huge amounts of plastic waste, alongside other recyclable material, during the annual processions season, with proceeds from the sales going towards helping the disabled. The nationwide initiative has been spearheaded by the Northern Municipality under the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry, in co-operation with the Bahrain Association for Parents and Friends of the Disabled. Northern Municipality director-general Lamya Al Fadhala highlighted the strategic vision behind this year’s campaign, which carries the theme ‘Recycling to Elevate’.

A milestone has been achieved in Bahrain’s housing financing schemes as more than 10,000 applicants have had their requests approved over the past three years, according to a top minister. A total of 2,584 applications for various housing financing schemes have been approved during the first half of this year, bringing the total number of approved applications since the programme’s launch in 2022 to 10,163, revealed Housing and Urban Planning Minister Amna Al Romaihi.
