An urgent proposal to enforce partial curfew has been approved by MPs, reports the GDN's Mohammed Al A’ali.
The proposal aims to limit the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
During Parliament’s weekly session today, 19 MPs voted in favour of the proposal, two rejected it and two abstained.
It was originally submitted by five MPs and received back-up from Parliament chairwoman Fouzia Zainal.
The MPs behind the proposal highlighted its urgency given multiple violations of directives issued for people to remain at home.
The proposal suggests implementing a curfew from 6pm until 5am.
