Bahrain has experienced its most somber Friday, as shops are shut, roads are empty and mosques are locked, the GDNonline's Raji Unnikrishnan reported earlier today.
Citizens and residents have joined hands and stayed home as part of national guidelines to limit the spread of the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) in the country.
All non-essential businesses shut down last night, while a ban on public gatherings of more than five people has been enforced.
Inspections will be stepped up daily in co-operation with concerned government agencies to ensure that the commercial establishments have downed their shutters – and punish violators.
The retail and industrial outlets will remain close until 7pm on April 9, and will open again until April 23.
