Random test samples for Covid-19 were taken from citizens in several locations as part of a national safety campaign, GDNonline reported tonight.
The Health Ministry, in co-operation with the Interior Ministry, set up sample collection stations in Bab Al Bahrain, Durrat Al Bahrain and Budaiya, where teams collected samples through mobile screening units.
The ministry said the specialised medical team, which includes volunteers from the National Campaign to Combat the Coronavirus, took the random samples from older people and people with a susceptibility to the virus for laboratory tests.
They also collected samples from hypermarkets, groceries, cold stores, bakeries and pharmacies in order to preserve the safety of the staff and that of their families and all citizens and residents.
