
Another 66 people have tested positive for Covid-19 among expatriate workers, announced the Health Ministry, writes the GDN's Raji Unnikrishnan.
These are men who were taken to quarantine facilities yesterday from their Salmabad residence.
"After laboratory tests confirmed positive the men were moved to treatment and isolation facilities for Covid-19," said the ministry.
The ministry reiterated that the men were quarantined in their residence and that there was no spread of the virus amongst migrant workers.
"Precautionary measures have been taken for the others whose stay in the quarantine has been extended for two more weeks," said the ministry.
This has taken the active cases in the country to 290, of which three remain critical.
Four more people have been discharged from treatment and isolation facilities, taking the total number of recoveries to 341.
And the number of people tested in the country are 36,158.
