Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed Alzayani has issued an order fixing the price of face masks and ensuring their availability amid soaring demand as the country battles the Covid-19 pandemic, GDNonline reported today.
Prices of surgical and N95 face masks will be capped at 140 fils and BD1.400 per piece respectively for three months from the date of implementation of the provisions of the order.
It is also prohibited to export all kinds of medical face masks for three months, unless permitted by the ministry.
Violators will be punished according to consumer protection law.
