Covid-19 new measures in Bahrain



A series of new measures has been implemented by the Government Executive Committee to combat Covid-19, GDNonline reported this evening.
This includes continuation of closure of cinemas, fitness centres and salons.
Restaurants and cafes will continue to open only for takeaway and deliveries.
People across Bahrain have also been urged to wear face masks in public.
The ban on public gatherings of more than 5 people will continue.
Commerical and Industrial stores that provide services and goods to customers will be allowed to operate under strict guidelines.
While the private sector has been instructed to implement remote working.
These measures, among others, will be enforced from April 9 until April 23.

  • There is no need for a national curfew in Bahrain at the moment, it was stressed.
    Continuing the implementation of a ban on public gatherings is key to defeating the coronavirus, said National Taskforce for Combating Covid 19 Monitoring Committee head Lieutenant Colonel Dr Manaf Al Qahtani.
    He said each country has its own guidelines and measures to combat the virus.
    He was speaking at a press briefing tonight.
