MPs have received a petition from owners of salon and massage parlour demanding compensation, the GDN's Mohammed Al A’ali reports.
These facilities were asked to shut down two weeks ago, but will not reopen on Thursday along with other commercial and industrial shops.
Under government measures to combat the spread of Covid-19, salons will remain closed until April 23.
MP Ebrahim Al Nefaei is spearheading a move alongside other MPs to obtain financial support from Tamkeen to pay for the rent and wages of employees of these salons.
