Eighty-seven new cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Bahrain today, GDNonline's Raji Unnikrishnan reports.
Of these, 72 are among migrant workers while the remaining 15 are from local contacts.
This means the total number of active cases in the country has reached 1,556, of which two patients remain in a critical condition.
The Health Ministry also announced 28 new recoveries, bringing the total to 1,246.
- A total of 1, 909 expat labourers have tested positive for Covid-19 so far in Bahrain.
Labour Market Regulatory Authority chief executive officer Ausamah Al Absi said that of this figure 95.5 per cent are working within the legal framework.
Of the total, 1.75 per cent are migrant workers on flexible visas, 1.6 per cent on visit visas and the remaining are housemaids.
