A social media war of words has erupted after a video was posted of residents in Grappenhall, near Warrington in northern England, doing a conga tied by a rope to each other so they could keep 'socially distanced and abide by Covid-19 rules' to celebrate #VEDay75.
One angry viewer said: "Not only is this not social distancing or obeying only two people gatherings, is is really how we should commemorate the end of a hideous war where so many died?"
Another blasted: "People can't go to their family funerals but it's 'OK' to dance in the street holding a rope? Disgusting!"
In reply, one of the residents replied saying there was a tape marking 2m distance ... 'can we keep the positivity please because that's the whole point, not trying to upset anyone."
