Face mask warning



Legal action continues to be taken against people who flout the law by not wearing face masks in public places, reports GDNonline's Noor Zahra.

The Interior Ministry said that people should continue to wear them in public places and maintain social distancing to help reduce the spread of coronavirus.

“Legal action is being taken against any violators who don’t wear a mask in public,” tweeted the Interior Ministry today.

“In addition, it is important to maintain social distancing to help combat the spread of the disease,” it added.


  • More than 200 people in the Capital Governorate were fined for not wearing face masks while in public, GDNonline reported today.

According to the Capital Governorate Police Directorate director general, 210 people received fines for not adhering to directives issued to combat the spread of Covid-19.

“In line with issuing the fines, store owners were urged to ban customers from walking into their shops if they aren’t wearing masks and to ensure they implement social distancing,” he said.

“Efforts were intensified alongside Community Police to raise awareness about the importance of social distancing in shops, stores and parks while adhering to refrain from gatherings of more than five people and legal action will be taken against violators.”

He also highlighted that during the Eid holiday patrols and Community Police personnel will be intensified in malls, shops and public places in order to catch violators and raise awareness about the importance of social distancing.
